With the WTS Solid iron, the sole element and the toe bone element are both 5mm thick. The thicker sole element and less pronounced toe adjustment give the iron a greater stability. The iron remains strong even after heavy wear of the foot bone element.

​The thicker internet edge also has the advantage of providing more material for the 3rd crampon hole. There are therefore always enough threads to fix the crampon. The toe grooves are deeper. This allows a more powerful thrust when hitting the obstacle.
