The Lateral Support offers a large support surface and is very light, because it is made of aluminum. It attaches to the iron with screws, which allows it to be removed and replaced easily during a shoeing period, without having to remove the iron.

​The WTS Lateral Support can be sawn along the indicated line, to obtain the WTS Lateral Support Short. This is often used on the hind hooves, as a support in case of knee or hock problem. The Lateral Support is used in knock-out horses, in the event of collateral ligament problems, and to stabilize the limb in soft ground.
