Full Rocker Shoe

Full Rocker Shoe

Size
The Drop Forge Full Rocker shoe is a slightly modified version of our milled Full Rocker shoe. It is available in 7 sizes in a sandblasted finish to visually distinguish it from our milled aluminum shoe.

This shoe is a very useful aid in treating injuries or diseases of the foot resulting from the tension of the deep digital flexor tendon. It can reduce stress on the navicular bone, bursa, and associated ligaments and reduce compressive forces on the corium of the sole, thereby promoting sole growth and a stronger, thicker wall. Mechanical properties can be further improved by forging more rocking action into the shoe.
The advantages of this shoe include:

Can be cold worked.
Less expensive alternative to our 6061-T6 aluminum pads.
T6 temper and hardness reduce wear and increase longevity.
Comes pre-punched but undrilled, allowing you to choose the spacing of the holes.
Optimal breaking properties enhance digital alignment and the natural healing environment.
The Drop Forge Full Rocker shoe is designed to deliver high-end mechanical breaking. The breaking point, or pivot point, of this shoe is located in the center of the shoe, allowing the horse to adjust its palmar angle on its own.

Horses with limited solar perfusion (blood supply) have little or no sole growth because there is a lack of sufficient nutrition in the cut line. By relieving tension deep in the digital flexors, the blood supply to the blades and soles of the feet is increased. This shoe provides the continuous self-adjustment the horse needs, even when stationary.

The Drop Forge Full Rocker shoe is also an aid in improving stiff sole growth, and it offers farriers and veterinarians a new option for treating a variety of problems associated with thin and painful soles. Lateral X-rays are useful for placement of trim and footwear, as well as an aid in evaluating progress.
